Catching Up!

Sorry for my absence for the last week. My computer got wiped out by a nasty virus and have spent the last five days getting it back up and running! I was lucky enough to save most of my quilting files (patterns, pics, etc.) but, lost all my bookmarks, favorite sites, and other things as well. Reinstalling all my programs was not fun either! But, I'm thankful it wasn't as worse as it could have been. I still need to re-install my camera software yet, so unfortunately won't have any pics up for another day or so.
Went to guild meeting on Monday, and enjoyed the speaker Sue Spargo, and her beautiful quilts! I did manage to sew several pillowcases this past week that QOV quilts are put into for presenting to veterans through the Lincoln quilter's guild. And two bags for the Bags Of Love program also through our guild.
Havn't had much luck working on the purple scraps, as of yet. But, will be looking forward to this week's Scrappy Saturday.

Purple-Scrappy Saturday

I finally was able to sort through most of my purple scraps! And since this month is purple, I am also going to be working on my UFO "Purple Passion". I love purple, and had some purple accumulated in my stash. But, when I started "Purple Passion" I found myself needing lots more! So fat quarters, yardage, and pieces were collected. Lots of it was purchased, just to cut up into little 2/12" squares, other ones were gifted to me, and I also gained other pieces from swaps.

For the longest time, I've had most of my purple fabrics stored all together in a big Ziplock storage bag, and the ones that I am using in "Purple Passion" in its own project box. Once in awhile I would need purple for another project, and would grab a few pieces here and there, but, for the most part, they've been separated from the general stash.

This picture is of the pieces that have already been used in , or are not currently associated with "Purple Passion" and are ones that I will be trying to make "April's project" out of.

The following pic, is the fabrics that are being used in "Purple Passion" but I am not sure will be all used up, so all the smaller pieces will be added to my scrap collection, and, will eventually be used in various other scrap quilts.

These pics are of the "Purple Passion" project. I need to make more pieced dog tooth borders out of the triangles, and more 16 patch blocks from the squares. The strips will be part of another border on the outside of the dogtooth one.

So, wish me luck this month in accomplishing something! Last month was a disaster as far as getting any projects done. Although I did lots of cutting, sewing, binding, and quilty things, just no finishes. Looking forward to seeing what everyone else is doing with their purple!

The color for April is purple, my favorite color!!! Now, what to make? Oh boy, I've got quite a task ahead of me, I've got lots of purple. So I better get busy sorting those scraps.

April, already!

Wow, can't believe it's almost been a full month since I've posted! So sorry, I didn't really mean to disappear like that. I tried to get caught up on some things, but, only succeeded in falling behind on others.

I didn't get anywhere with my green scraps, nor anymore done on my March UFO project either. Complete failure on both of those. But it's a new month, and a new color, and another UFO project, so will try again this month!

April is my month to send fabric to the others in the group Bee Pieceful, so they can make some beautiful blocks for me. So I needed to prepare all the packets, cut fabric, print instructions for the blocks, etc. in order to get them in the mail this last week.

I did volunteer at the Quilt Museum here in Lincoln on National Quilting Day with our guild to demonstrate some of our Community Outreach programs and it was lots of fun

I had several "extra" things going on with family and Church last month as well, so hopefully my quilting world will be able to get some "extra" time in April!
